Katrina Rebuild

Rick and Bill led the damage assessments, estimating, and reconstruction efforts on the 110 calendar day efforts to put back in service all critical facilities of the 65 damaged buildings on Tulane’s Campus. The campus was flooded substantially after Hurricane Katrina. Nearly all ground floor campus housing units, kitchens, and most classroom spaces were damaged. With 7 day a week efforts, all dormitories and main educational buildings were put back in service to allow Tulane to re-open January 15, 2006, less than five months after the storm waters had been pumped out of the city.
